How do you feel about robots and animated "creatures"? Did you know that 70% of Americans are very worried about robots taking over jobs that Americans can do themselves? Why are so many Americans worried about robots? Some helpful robotics are the Roomba: The Bratwurst Bot: The Pillo robot gives you the exact amount of medication you need: Who wouldn't want these?? I would love to have a robot grill my meats every day! The technology corporations are still having trouble convincing us that their new automatons are worth having. I think Americans are worried about certain robotics, like driver-less cars, or robots sent to the elderly to care for them. Americans are afraid that driver-less cars will eventually share the road with them. The creators of the driver-less car say they are safer because they "don't make mistakes" like human drivers. The car would not fall asleep or make emotional decisions that might cause a wreck. Would you be able to trust a computer to make the right decision in a life-or-death decision in a car? What about a robot that is programmed to take care of you? Could you trust a robot to wash, feed and care for you? Should we be afraid of this new technology or embrace it and accept all the new gizmos and gadgets that are being invented to make our lives more comfortable? What say you?
