Suppose you were wondering what does a black hole really look like in space? I know you don't want to see an artists drawing of a black hole in space. So here are some real images taken by various telescopes and satellites: Cosmic "swirls" seem to signal a disturbance...a big disturbance that involves...yes, a black hole! This blurry image has been cleaned up by various technologies and it has revealed a super massive black hole that is seen in the third picture. Centaurus A appears to be ejecting vast amounts of cosmic (gamma) rays that could only be jettisoned by...yes, a massive black hole! Yet another black hole... A blazing black hole in a brilliant spiral galaxy. It appears that Andromeda, our neighboring galaxy is sporting a black hole as well! Ho hum! It seems that black holes are not as rare as once thought, but they are everywhere. I guess space travel will continue to be dangerous and treacherous.
Have a great weekend and be careful traveling around the galaxy...
