Does anyone love standing in line, waiting...not moving, just waiting...can't go anywhere because nothing is moving, so you are left waiting..... Stationary fronts are kind of like that.... A stationary front forms when a cold front or warm front stops moving. This happens when two masses of air are pushing against each other but neither is powerful enough to move the other. When a warm or cold front stops moving, it becomes a stationary front. Once this boundary resumes its forward motion, it once again becomes a warm front or cold front. But before that time, we are just left waiting....during the time the fronts clash what can we expect? I guess if you have to wait out a stationary front, you might as well do it with friends....
