Behavioral Adaptations in animals are actions animals take to survive in their environments. Examples are hibernation, migration, and instincts. Some examples of animal behavioral adaptations are: 1. Hunting in groups: Some animals will hunt in groups because they have learned that teamwork provides a better meal and a fuller belly. 2. Acting dead: an animal that has learned to be still and pretend to be dead isn't chased by predators. Animal hunters that chase their prey will find a dead looking animal offensive. Or the hog nosed snake... 3. Migrations: some animals move to different areas of land to find better grass to graze on, or better food sources. Examples of Instinctive behavior: Bees dancing...doing the waggle dance! Spiders spinning webs. Turtles burying eggs. Animals also learn behaviors from their parents and siblings, even from other animals that live in their environment. Birds using tools. Smart dolphins and whales... Children learning from parents.... I hope that you will take some time with your pet, whether it's your dog, cat, kitten, puppy, fish, hamster or horse. Spend some good observation minutes and get to know them a little better. Can you tell what they like? What they don't like? Do they love you? Look for the signs.
