Why do we want to explore space? It is really expensive to create transportation and the slightest mistakes end in disasters that take the lives of trained astronauts, destroy multi-million dollar equipment and burn up valuable fuel. Those are highly negative problems of space exploration. On the positive side is some "spin off" technology that we have discovered and been able to use to make our human life easier. For example: Earthquake shock absorbers Next generation jet engines Tools for brain surgery Making flying safer Create jobs Create economic opportunities The first endoscope that can go into the brain and produce 3-D images for surgeons. Memory foam MRI machines Smoke detectors These are only a few that "space exploration" has produced to help us learn more about the vastness of space around us and the closeness of space beside us. Our tax dollars are not being wasted like some people think. We are actually getting closer to space and saving lives on this planet! An MRI image of the spine. The Curiosity rover on Mars collecting sand and rock samples. Christa McAuliffe teaches from outer space.
Space exploration has an affect on all people, from young to old.
