Who likes to think? There are some people who LOVE to think, like Albert Einstein, Plato, Shakespeare and those type of people. And there are people who don't like to think.... Students that develop computational thinking begin to see how classes like math, science, languages and history are connected. Students are able to see the relationship between the classroom and real life. Does everyone think the same way? Nope! They sure don't! People today live in a world where technology is growing quickly and is taking over how lots of jobs are done. We enjoy so much new technology too! IPhones, dishwashers, Tesla cars, hover boards, video gaming. All of us use technology every day. Our brains need to be trained to figure out how to solve problems in a step-by-step manner. Education helps us understand that problems can be solved in a specific form or a process of steps. Even if we don't use computers this type of thinking will help you change a tire, fix a clock, or even build a car engine. If you are good at computational thinking you look forward to solving problems because you have discovered that solutions to problems do follow a form, or step-by-step method. Do all of us have to think like a computer to solve problems? , Well, it depends on who you talk to....in the old days before technology, work was physically hard. Because of computational thinking we have many machines that do the hard work for us! Some people are afraid that using so much technology will make us stupid. That's why we need to keep thinking, going to school and learning how to do math, science, and solving problems, learning new skills and using technology to help people. Humans can do amazing things when they learn how to think and want to improve the quality of life for other humans around them. Computational thinking ROCKS!

Mrs. TaylorI love science! Everything about the world is interesting and never boring. I love to study plants, animals, insects, and people. My favorite subjects are my students who are the most unique organisms on the planet! Categories |
