If we are looking for anything constant in our Solar System the Moon is our "Go-To" celestial object! The Moon has been orbiting our Earth in such an organized pattern that farmers have been using it to help them plant crops, harvest crops and hold celebrations! The Moon takes about 28 days to orbit the Earth and on its journey we can see the Moon take on many different shapes. We see crescent moons, half moons, football looking moons and full moons. And this pattern has repeated itself precisely for thousands of years. The first calendars created were using Moon phase patterns. Our Moon has always presented "faces" or "phases" that have been given names. There are still questions many of us have as we study the Moon. One question that stands out is: "Why do we always see the same side of the moon? Why can't we see all sides of the moon?" Another question is: "Does the Moon rotate?" "Is the dark side of the Moon a myth?" "Can the Moon change the ocean tides each month?" "Is the Moon falling into the Earth?" All of these questions we have help guide our study of the Moon. I'm sure you know a lot about the Moon too. I look forward to hearing you share these ideas in class.

The dark side of the moon isn't a myth. The aliens are hiding it from us.

I think it's a myth because the aliens are all at AREA 51. The moon with the moving mouth is creepy

The moon .gif was funny! The moon is always so bright at night. I loved watching it when I went camping in the mountains this summer. It is pretty amazing how it has rotated for so long and impacts our earth so much.

I love the moon and the stars. At Lake Powell I slept on the top of our houseboat and looked at the moon, the stars, and tried to see shooting stars all night.

For decades, Nevada's Area 51 Air Force facility has represented the eye of a conspiratorial hurricane that swirls around "evidence" that aliens (and their technology) exist and are hiding behind its walls. Books, TV shows, and even massive online "raids" have tried to glimpse beyond its stark signs warning against trespassers.

And how are you so sure that aliens don't reside in area 51?

I don't think that aliens live in our solar system let alone earth but I do think that smaller life forms such as bacteria do exist outside our solar system.

and that means area 51 isn't harboring aliens and you'd have to be very stupid to go.
