Water. Water. Water. It's always about water. Isn't there any other liquid on Earth besides water? Of course...possibly you had milk on your cereal this morning for breakfast, oil and vinegar dressing for your salad, syrup or honey on your pancakes? Maybe you live near a volcano, lava is a liquid...but water is still the boss. Other liquids don't have the structure of water. Milk has some water, but lots of fats... Milk: The structure of an oil molecule: chains of hydrogen, not much oxygen. What about blood? Our bodies are about 75% water.... Umm, that looks way too complicated...that's a blood cell?? There, that's better. Totally understandable. I don't see H20... I guess the take home message is, not all liquids are water. We have a lot of liquids on the planet, and the reason they fall in the liquid category is because they are particles that are packed together, but slide loosely beside each other.
To summarize: 1.Water is the most abundant compound on the planet. 2.Water has two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. 3.Liquid is just one of the many states of matter. 4.Liquid is a category that includes all things or matter that are non-solid and non-gaseous.
