Scientists believe that the solar system was formed when a cloud of gas and dust in space was disturbed, maybe by the explosion of a nearby star (called a supernova). This explosion made waves in space which squeezed the cloud of gas and dust. A close up of how the rocky planets may have formed. About the frost line....
The solar system has a story and the story can be remembered if you think about the story line: Stage 1: Supernova Stage 2: Spinning Stage 3: Heating of the elements through collisions. Stage 4: Accretion of the materials in to balls of matter, some small, some massive. Stage 5: The sun lights up (Kaboom) Stage 6: Rocks, dust, planetesimals, comets, asteroids all swept away to the outside of Mars and to the outside of Pluto. Stage 6: Planets continue formation Stage 7: We don't know, we are living it! The Nebula Theory is a story, the more you connect the parts in an organized fashion, the easier it will be to retell the parts and think of new questions.

That's crazy how many things take place in the creation of a solar system! I feel like we don't give the world the credit that it deserves. Thank you world, thank you.

Mrs. TaylorI love science! Everything about the world is interesting and never boring. I love to study plants, animals, insects, and people. My favorite subjects are my students who are the most unique organisms on the planet! Categories |
