What is scientific thinking? Well, it's the way we think. Each of us are individuals and we think differently than another. When we think alike with others that's how friendships are formed. We tend to hang out with those that think like us. Is it really different to think like a scientist? Not really, we already think like scientists. To understand what we see in our world around us we try testing things. Remember when you were little and kept dropping things off your highchair? After repeated testing we realize that objects fall to the Earth, they don't fly up into the sky. As we get older we think better about how things work, we know that certain things hurt us and other things are very delightful to play with. We have made many observations, comparisons, experiments, evaluations and applied what we have learned. By a process of experimentation we develop a mode of thinking — about any scientific subject, content, or problem — the more we think improves our thinking and improves the quality of our life as we skillfully take charge of the structures and objects in our lives. We in a sense become more "intelligent". Sometimes it takes lots and lots of thinking...understanding, processing and growing. Humans are kind of complex... But you have a beautiful brain!!

Mrs. TaylorI love science! Everything about the world is interesting and never boring. I love to study plants, animals, insects, and people. My favorite subjects are my students who are the most unique organisms on the planet! Categories |
