Students will need to address this question on Friday. What is the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn anyway? They are imaginary lines on the globe that show 23.5 degrees in the north and 23.5 degrees in the southern area of the Earth. They are known as the tropics because the climate along these lines is warm and moist. What do these lines have to do with the seasons though? The tropics are the two lines where the sun is directly overhead at noon on the two solstices - near June and December 21. The sun is directly overhead at noon on the Tropic of Cancer on June 21 (the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere and the beginning of winter in the Southern Hemisphere) and the sun is directly overhead at noon on the Tropic of Capricorn on December 21 (the beginning of winter in the Northern Hemisphere and the beginning of summer in the Southern Hemisphere). Soooo.... The reason for the location of the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn at 23.5° north and south respectively is due to the axial tilt of the Earth. The Earth is titled 23.5 degrees from the plane of the Earth's revolution around the sun each year. The question to answer is: What is special about the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn at the solstices that can explain the above diagram? Does your poster model show this effect of the Sun's rays at this time of year? Does the shadow of the Earth help to demonstrate this effect?
Can't wait to see what ideas everyone has to show this on their poster!!

The American Cancer Society estimates that 12 percent of women in the US will develop breast cancer and out of those cases about 39,620 women will die from this disease.

Playing poker online is a great pastime for a number of people. These people range in age from the just barely legal when it comes to playing poker online to people who are much older and looking to have a source of fun and excitement.

Tropic in general meant a very hot zone.which explains that, these imaginary line of about 23 degree north and south to the e equator really work to mark or show countries.
