Wowza! I would hate to get hit in the head with that "meteorite"!!! Um, yes...that is a meteorite crater. In Arizona...not far from Utah...YIKES!! I love the atmosphere around Earth that helps to burn up most of these rocks that fall into our Earth!!

It would be very scary to get hit in the head with a meteor! I wouldn't remember a thing after getting hit with that! IF I even lived! ;) and meteorites scare me a lot! SCARY!

how close is that meteorite crater to Utah? is it nearer to the northern side, or southern? does it have a name that it is called?

The crater is in northern Arizona, near Winslow. It is almost 1 mile wide and scientists think it was traveling 26,000 miles/hour when it hit. This occurred about 50,000 years ago...
